Aurox 11.0 Hermes is a new version of european Gnu/Linux distribution.

Aurox 11.0 is based on Fedora Core 3. It uses some parts from this system and the newest updates and fixes. Some most important parts of the distribution (hardware detection and configuration tools, X Server, configuration tools, server applications) come from Fedora Core 4.

The system you've just installed has a lot of additional applications, improvements and fixes which make Aurox different from Fedora.

You can use Aurox 11.0 to upgrade older versions of Aurox Linux, Fedora Core, and even Red Hat Linux (the last one not recommended).

New versions of Aurox

  • New versions of Aurox Linux are published quarterly
  • You can download Aurox for free (the list of mirroring FTP servers can be found on www.aurox.org
  • The newest version (on 3 DVDs) is always added to the quarterly magazine Aurox Linux
  • The magazine is published currently in six languages (Polish, German, French, Spanish, Czech, Italian)
  • On the mirrors You can also find Live version of Aurox (Bootable system, that runs from the CD, without any install)
  • Aurox Live is published on a cover CD in a couple of magazines produced by Software Wydawnictwo Sp. z o.o.
